Anorexia is a distortion in the perception of body image that compromises the physical, mental, emotional, and social relationship health of those who suffer from it.
This condition establishes self-induced weight loss as its main characteristic. Such behavior is caused by an abnormal preoccupation with the shape and weight of one’s own body. It later manifests itself through excessive control of food intake. It is more common in women, although there are cases in men.
